END SOUNDS NEWEST SIGNING J. CHARLES & THE TRAINROBBERS HIT THE STUDIO TO RECORD THEIR DEBUT ALBUM

Los Angeles, CA, June 9, 2011 – Austin, TX indie label, End Sounds has announced their newest signing to their diverse roster, J. Charles & The Trainrobbers. The Dallas, TX-based band have entered The Echo Lab recording studio with producer Matt Pence (Centro-Matic, Midlake) to record their debut album, Upon Leaving, which will be released in Fall 2011.

“After watching a two-song live video stream of J. Charles & The Trainrobbers, I found myself watching the recording over and over, and after 45 minutes of repeat, I knew then what I know now…that End Sounds and J. Charles & The Trainrobbers’ were destined to be together,” said End Sounds co-founder, Jonathan Gill.

At the intersection where cowboy boots meet Converse, where twang ties into tough-minded rock riffs, and country collides with the power of punk, you’ll find J. Charles & The Trainrobbers. The Dallas-based band’s insistent, urgent sound thrives within the continuum of true American originals that includes everyone from Black Flag to Billy Joe Shaver, Tom Waits to Willie Nelson. The band started in early 2010, when J. Charles Saenz, former front man for recently disbanded Southern rockers Sangre Sangre, as well as ex-lead guitarist for punk rockers the Strays and Death on Wednesday, decided to make a long and permanent drive from Los Angeles to the great state of Texas.  Armed with a batch full of new songs, Saenz teamed up with longtime friend, drummer Steven Visneau (The Queers, Slowride).  Something special started happening right off the bat, and from there it was a matter of putting the pieces together, adding in Omar Yee Foon (The Mag Seven) on bass and pedal steel guitarist Danny Crelin (Eleven Hundred Springs), forming J. Charles & the Trainrobbers.

The band will be in the studio through mid-July and will performing in and around Texas before mounting on a major tour in 2012.  Having already gigged alongside an impressive array of artists including Lucero, Deer Tick, Dawes, Middle Brother, and Shovels and Rope, J. Charles & The Trainrobbers are eager to spread their music as far and wide as possible.

About End Sounds
An Austin, TX-based record label founded in 2001, is turning ten years old this year.  In an age of declining record sales the label has weathered the storm and surprisingly is growing in the current climate.  This is likely due to the label’s focus on quality releases over quantity and a careful selection of a diverse roster with roots in punk ethos.

TUMBLEDOWN TO RELEASE NEW VIDEO + FREE DOWNLOAD & TRACK STREAM

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Los Angeles, CA, October 19, 2010 – Bremerton, WA-based alt-country/rockabilly band, Tumbledown will premiere the video for their first single, “Arrested In El Paso” from their sophomore album, Empty Bottle, on Thursday, October 21 through their official website, www.tumbledownhq.com starting at 3pm PST/6 pm EST.

As most can envision from the title, and in true outlaw fashion, Tumbledown’s brush with the law is now on record.  What started as a simple trip through El Paso on tour, instead turned convoluted a little over a year ago. Each band member, frontman and guitarist Mike Herrera (MxPx, Arthur), guitarist Jack Parker, standup bassist Marshall Trotland and drummer Harley Trotland, were arrested and questioned, with the band barely making it to Dallas, their next tour stop. The video was directed by Chris Crary, whom Herrera has worked with in the past, most notably behind the helm of MxPx’s “Gimme Christmas” video. It was produced by Crary, Mark Nashif and Herrera.

Starting today, Shockhound.com is offering Tumbledown fans an exclusive bundle. For just $20, fans can purchase a Tumbledown T-shirt, download of the album and an autographed poster through http://www.shockhound.com/merch/6719-tumbledown-t-shirt—-mp3-album—signed-poster. Also available today exclusively on Fuse.tv is a free download of “Places In This Town”, which can be found at, http://www.fuse.tv/music/free-music.html?artist_id=451.  And this Friday, October 22 as a final promo, Altpress.com will unveil the album’s title track, “Empty Bottle” exclusively on their website.

The music of Tumbledown takes that sepia-tinged image of Americana and sends it hurtling into the present, with the help of some punk-inflected riffs and pure rock & roll attitude. A follow-up to their self-titled album released last year, Empty Bottle offers an image of Americana that’s as true, tragic, tumultuous, and tantalizing.  You can call it alt-country if you want to, or even outlaw country, but for all the six-string twang and hell-bent two-steps that tumble out of these tunes, you can’t discount the pure rock & roll power Tumbledown brings to the table either.

Empty Bottle will be released nationally on October 26 via End Sounds. In support of the album, Tumbledown will be heading out on a one-month tour starting on October 30 in Bremerton, WA with a Halloween-themed CD release party at Winterland and will last through November.  For exact dates, check the bands website and MySpace page for an up-to-date itinerary.

TUMBLEDOWN TO RELEASE “EMPTY BOTTLE” ON OCTOBER 26

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TUMBLEDOWN TO RELEASE “EMPTY BOTTLE” ON OCTOBER 26

NEW TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED,

FIRST SINGLE “ARRESTED IN EL PASO BLUES”

Los Angeles, CA, September 17, 2010 – Bremerton, WA’s TUMBLEDOWN wants to knock one back with their fans and celebrate the release of their new album, Empty Bottle via End Sounds on October 26.The rock & roll sounds of frontman Mike Herrera (MxPx, Arthur) and the band have never been more electric, and rightly so, Empty Bottle is a perfect display of that energy.

Beginning today, fans can pre-order the new album Empty Bottle, produced by Mike Herrera, through Shockhound.com for a special low price. A limited edition LP version of Empty Bottle, also available on October 26 and features the same track listing but varied artwork, will be exclusively available through the label’s site www.endsounds.com, the band’s website www.tumbledownhq.com, and from the band at shows.  Only 500 copies of the LP will be available with 100 pressed in special white vinyl.  Each purchase of the vinyl album will come with a digital download of the entire album as well.

After a relentless 2009 in which the band released their self-titled debut and a live album entitled, Live In Tulsa, in addition to touring in support of both, TUMBLEDOWN was ready to get back into the studio to start work on Empty Bottle.

The music of Tumbledown takes that sepia-tinged image of Americana and sends it hurtling into the present, with the help of some punk-inflected riffs and pure rock & roll attitude.  All of the album’s songs written on the road, the characters in Herrera’s songs drink to forget; they ask for a reason to stay in town without really expecting to get one; they look at the madness around them and wonder whether it’s them or the rest of the world that’s gone crazy.

I want to paint those colors that they’ve been missing but never knew were missing until they heard them on this new record and now life is never the same after that,” Herrera explains.  “We have a good time each time we perform and we want our fans to have the same reaction while listening.”

On Empty Bottle’s first single, “Arrested in El Paso Blues”, Herrera accompanied by Jack Parker on guitar and brothers Marshall and Harley Trotland on standup bass and drums, respectively, sings about country and roots music staples – drinking, fighting, gambling, ladies of the night and brushes with the law. From the full-frontal cowpunk attack of the opening cut, “Places In This Town,” where the narrator braves harm to body and soul but still finds strength to forge ahead, to closing track “Not Hung Over,” a classic morning-after-madness tale of a dizzy-headed drinking man’s denial, Empty Bottle offers an image of Americana that’s as true, tragic, tumultuous, and tantalizing.

In celebration, the band will embark on a month long tour, kicking off in their hometown of Bremerton, WA with a Halloween-themed CD release party at Winterland. The tour will continue through the last week of November.  More special promotions and International release dates are to be announced within the coming weeks.
